The Association
The Association has two major functions which sit side by side and are interrelated:
- To be the alumni body for Cranfield School of Management, maintaining and developing relationships with alumni from all of the School's programmes
- To grow an international network of professional managers on a membership subscription basis
Aims
- To be an active network of professional managers from all aspects of business, the professions, the public and the not-for-profit sectors
- To contribute to a positive post ‘Cranfield Experience’ by creating and developing networking, lifelong learning and career management services
- To increase awareness of Cranfield School of Management and its activities throughout the UK and internationally
- To support links between alumni and the School
Governance
The Association has been and continues to be a powerful force for an active alumni network, promoting activities for networking, career management and lifelong learning, speaking on behalf of the School’s alumni and promoting the ‘Cranfield Experience’ throughout the world.
The Association’s governing bodies direct and promote the interests and contributions of each member. The CMA Board and the CMA Council are the bodies charged with presenting and directing this collective effort.
The CMA Board sets down the constitution by which the Association is governed and elects the Association’s Chairman. It meets four times a year with one meeting coinciding with the CMA Council meeting.
The CMA Council ensures that the membership services continue to meet the needs of the membership. The Council meets annually at a joint meeting with the CMA Board.
The Association is run independently on a day-to-day basis by the CMA Alumni Office Team, headed by the Director of Alumni Relations. The Association is funded jointly by member subscriptions and by the School.
The CMA Annual General Meeting is held in January. All reports, papers and minutes are available to all CMA members via CMAWorld.

Membership of the Association is offered to all current students, graduates, staff, faculty of the School of Management and to participants of all its Executive Development Programmes. In addition it is offered to Cranfield University alumni with an interested in management.

‘The Cranfield Management Association is one of the strongest alumni associations of any business school I have come across. The School’s alumni have gone onto greater things and the CMA continues to bring people together.’
