Alumni Communication Policy

The Association acts as the central point for University, School, CMA and alumni communications to all School of Management alumni. It does this using a variety of media and within guidelines agreed by its alumni.

CMA Alumni Directory

Frequency: Annual – distributed in January
Recipients: CMA members
Type: Bookmarks
Business Rules: Anyone, subject to CMA discretion may advertise via book marks. Fees apply.

CMA Alumni Magazine

Frequency: Biannual – distributed March and September
Recipients: CMA members, School of Management staff and faculty; pdf version available via CMAWorld
Type: News items, articles, feature articles, advertisements, and inserts
Business Rules: news and articles subject to Editor’s decision and space constraint; advertisements and inserts open to anyone, subject to CMA discretion. Fees apply.

CMA e-Newsletter

Frequency: Monthly – distributed first working day of each month
Recipients: All graduate alumni and CMA members, Cranfield School of Management staff and faculty
Type: News items with optional weblinks
Business Rules: Open to CMA, Cranfield School of Management and University subject to space constraints

CMA Event-Bulletin

Frequency: Monthly – distributed mid month
Recipients: All graduate alumni and CMA members UK based
Type: Events of interest to alumni
Business Rules: Open to CMA, Cranfield School of Management and University subject to space constraints

CMAWorld

Frequency: Daily
Recipients: Public website
Type: News, events and publications
Business Rules: Open to CMA, Cranfield School of Management and University subject to CMA discretion

CMA Email

The CMA endeavours to ensure that alumni only receive emails containing information of relevance and interest. All alumni will receive the formal e-communications outlined above i.e. one or two a month and can unsubscribe at any time if they wish to do so. In addition, CMA members may choose to receive additional e-communications based on their specific interest areas e.g. non-executive directors, entrepreneurship. Again, they can unsubscribe at any time.

In addition to formal e-communications the following applies to ad hoc email:

Frequency: maximum one a month
Recipients: Selected alumni meeting specific criteria
Type: CMA branded email
Business Rules: Open to CMA, Cranfield School of Management and University subject to CMA discretion. Maximum 10% of alumni.

Mailings

Frequency: Ad hoc
Recipients: CMA members
Type: Third party via the Alumni Directory Publisher
Business Rules: Open to ‘Professional bodies’ subject to CMA discretion. Fees apply.

Frequency: Annual – distributed in April
