Cranfield on the road in Europe

Some of our Economics lecturers have been on the road promoting our graduate programmes in Europe over the last few weeks. Séan Rickard, Joe Nellis and John Glen delivered ‘taster’ lectures on the global economy in Munich, Milan and Zurich respectively.

Organised by the School’s graduate programmes marketing team, and open to prospective candidates, alumni and corporate guests, between them the events attracted 27 prospects and 32 alumni. One enthusiastic alumnus travelled to Milan from Turin where he lives, and the following evening attended the lecture in Zurich where he happened to be on business!

Current Modular MBA student Prakash Nair reports: “The prospects found this kind of event really useful as it was not only intellectual and talking about current events but also a great opportunity to talk to the real guys - the alumni (no offence John!) A good half hour after the lecture to mingle with the alumni was highly appreciated by the prospects.

Quote from a prospect, "This kind of lecture and open networking is a lot better than attending presentations that just keep on telling why the school is the best." Having the event soon after an MBA fair was also useful and it makes the maximum marketing impact as the key messages in their quest to find the right MBA school are reaffirmed and lingering questions are almost immediately answered as they talk to the lecturer/alumni. One prospect said to me, "Cranfield was not even on my list. After talking to you at the fair and with others at today's event, I am surely going for the Preview Day".

For the alumni, this was a good way to catch up after a long time and network - also to meet up with the faculty!”
