Our recent Alumni Career event proved to be very much appreciated by alumni in these challenging times. On Wednesday 11th we were please to host 119 alumni at our first such event in the CMRI. Alumni travelled from all over the UK (from Perthshire to the Isle of Wight) and from France and all went away feeling the day was very worthwhile. As one alumnus put it "I always leave Cranfield feeling stimulated".Delegates were first presented with an overview of the current recruitment market – full time by Bryn Williams of Hoggett Bowers and interim management by Charles Russam of Russam GMS. Our "resident coach" Alan Frost, whose company The Buzz for Life works closely with the CMA, presented the important ace of staying confident and motivated. 29 Selected specialists were invited to join in an exhibition area where alumni were able to gain relevant career advice from professionals in their sectors and pick up practical tips from advisors with regard to securing a new position. A broad range of alumni from new graduates, middle managers, senior managers, directors and portfolio professionals attended this very busy event. There was a lot of networking going on – even waiting in the queue!
During the afternoon Canon UK presented a corporate view of the organisation and made no apology in making it clear that they were attending the event looking for good people who they knew would do a good job for their company.
We would also like to thank Cranfield School of Management staff who also contributed. With their input we were able to offer individual appointments, for a CV audit and with our Information Specialist and Career Coach, to those who were able to come along earlier in the afternoon.
CMA members who were not able to come along will be able
to view the individual presentations.
