The Cranfield Regatta 2010 is all set to be the biggest yet as we are expecting over 30 entries, based on the level of interest we have already generated.
This year the regatta will run from Portsmouth to Cowes and back over the weekend of the 10/11th July with Saturday night at the Island Sailing Club in Cowes. The cost per boat is £2500 and this includes all food for the weekend, wet weather gear and regatta organisation.
There are a number of ways for alumni to get involved.
1) You could enter a crew from your own year as an opportunity to get back in touch and have a great weekend away. The eligibility criteria is that 5 people have to have (or be studying for) a MBA or equivalent qualification (e.g. MSc in Finance / Marketing) so the other 3 can be family or friends.
2) Alternatively, for those in MBA intensive companies (e.g. BDO / KPMG / IBM / J&J etc), you could organise an entry from your company as networking opportunity within the organisation and to promote your company to the broader MBA community. You never know, the company might contribute! We are particularly keen to get corporate entries this year.
3) Also we will be looking for skippers (RYA Coastal Skipper or above) and 1st mates (RYA Day Skipper) to take a group of the current students. As you are helping them out, your costs will be subsidised significantly) i.e. a cheap weekend racing.
