Making the right choice

No-one can make career choices for you but our Career Management Service aims to assist you with your career choices and personal plans by providing practical advice from many relevant sources.

Managing your Career

The CMA provides all alumni with advice, guidance and support during the various steps they make whilst going through a career change by offering practical help. This spans from self analysis and understanding the available opportunities through to creating a personal marketing plan, undertaking recruiters’ assessment processes and finally making a decision on the right role.

CMA members can access more in depth information including recommended books, internet links, electronic sources, directories and up-to-date statistical information.

Career Moves

Over the last 15 years the CMA has developed strong relationships with executive recruitment consultancies internationally and with alumni looking to recruit. Current job vacancies, covering a broad range of industries and all management expertise, are posted online through Career Moves on a daily basis.

CMA members have immediate access to these full-time, part-time, permanent and contract positions.

Career Redirection

In conjunction with Profiles International the CMA is able to offer an entirely new psychometric assessment aimed at providing redundant or career-changing executives with a new sense of direction based on their core personality and behavioural traits – ie those parts of us that make us what we are.

Interim Management

In partnership with 3 leading Interim Management providers, the CMA brings its members the very best advice, guidance and opportunities within the world of Interim Management.

The Service can assist you in your decision to become an Interim Manager and to provide you with support to find assignments and to manage your business. Alternatively, the Service can support you if you are looking at Interim Management as a resource option and can provide guidance to finding and then managing an Interim Manager.

Non-Executive Directors

Working with The Independent Director Limited and Cranfield School of Management, the CMA provides an unparalleled service to understand the role and responsibilities of a Non-Executive Director (NED).

The Service assists CMA members in their decision to become a NED, steers them to relevant training to understand the role of an effective NED and provides support to find an appointment. Alternatively the Service can support CMA members if their organisation is looking for a NED and can provide guidance in finding the right person and in managing the NED.
